China's second batch of emergency humanitarian aid departed for Mexico

At 3:37 am on May 4, the Chinese government's second batch of emergency humanitarian aid to Mexico departed from Beijing Capital International Airport. It is expected to arrive in Mexico at 5:54 pm Beijing time the same day.

According to an official at the Department of Aid to Foreign Countries, under the Ministry of Commerce, this batch includes face masks, eyeshades, gloves, sterilized appliances and body-temperature thermometers. The shipment is made up of about 6,300 cases with a 475 cubic meter volume and weighing 70 tons.

The first batch of aid materials from the Chinese government to Mexico arrived at 12:30 am local time on May 1. A hand-over ceremony, attended by both sides, was held at the presidential parking apron at Mexico City International Airport. The dignitaries at the ceremony included Mexican President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa, Mexico's Foreign Minister Patricia Espinosa, and several other high-ranking government officials, together with Yin Hengmin, Chinese ambassador to Mexico and other Chinese foreign diplomats at the Chinese embassy. Mexican President Calderon Hinojosa, on behalf of Mexican government and its people, extended his appreciation to the Chinese government for its emergency humanitarian aid to Mexico.
